Olympus fulfill their promised to update their Stylus SW version with announcing Stylus Tough 6000 and Stylus Tough 8000 as the new tough digital camera. The Olympus Stylus Tough 6000 is 10-megapixel camera, While the Stylus Tough 8000 comes as 12-megapixel camera. Both provide with 3.6x wide optical zoom lens (equivalent 28-102mm) and Dual Image Stabilization. Both equipped with 2.7-inch HyperCrystal III LCD display with LED illumination for underwater used. Both able to record VGA video at 30fps as well as air and water pressure checking.

The Olympus Stylus Tough 6000 can work in up to 2m of height, 10m of underwater, 100kg of crush and -10°C of freeze. Then the Stylus Tough 8000 is shockproof up to 1.5m, waterproof up to 3m and freezeproof up to -10°C. The Stylus Tough 6000 available earlier in January 2009 and priced at $299.99, then the Stylus Tough 8000 out in February and sell at $399.99.
